Meanwhile, in the countryside of Lazio, Luciano does the good life in his luxurious villa with money and advice from the former wife of Sergio Sticker (Luca Zingaretti), a true eminence grise of Baietti Enterprise, president and representative of a holding company that thrives on shady dealings and shameless recommendations and connivance. But times get rough and the supports begin to waver dangerously: the marriage between Luciano and a rich daughter of one pap first step to catch up, but the great idea to find a figurehead sufficiently naive and trusting on whom the responsibility of the situations pi compromised. But the dream does not last long: Archie must open their eyes, Luciano is expected to report its mistakes, try to salvage Sticker. All nodes will be home to roost, as most glaring and painful. Someone resign, someone andr ahead anyway, someone coroner his dreams. As in life.

The vampires have taken over men, for that matter there had already announced I Am Legend in all its various forms and literary and cinematic vampires could be the race that will take our place. In 2019 almost the entire population of the planet feeds on blood and lives civilly. Cities have been organized to work more than anything else at night and the cars have tinted windows to run during the day. The kiosks in the subway selling blood and the few remaining humans have literally grown to milk the lifeblood from the multinational number one in the commission of blood. How easy to imagine being a few remaining humans even matter pima they eat the vampire begins to run low, the cost of the plasma rises and industries looking for a substitute as effective for not closing shop. Their man (or vampire) on the scientist Edward Dalton, who nevertheless seems more tempted by finding a cure for vampirism that a blood substitute.
If there 'one thing that recent years have taught us that cinema vampires are more solitary creatures with which we were accustomed. In the popular imagination is going a merger between zombies and vampires, they are no longer the first lens bodies without intellect and the latter in turn hungry flocks, both bite and infect. It 'disappeared even any link with religion, the crosses are now used only in parodies. In an age of pandemics vampirism not more offspring of evil but it becomes a virus that is transmitted by the bite and that threatens the extinction of the race. Vampires in Daybreakers, in particular, are much moreeducated than average, ask for favor and drink the blood of the glasses.
The strength of the film lies not so much cleaned up the image of the vampire (already seen too many times) as in the effective mix of vampire aesthetics (as opposed to oscurit very rare moments of blinding brightness, pallor and outbursts of gore) and dystopian fiction. The world imagined by the Spierig brothers in effect an alternate reality designed to the smallest detail the social, economic and technological (a triumph of solutions to power a city of undead even during the day), a universe evolved sucked able to support fully if only for that little problem of scarsit blood. The two directors also finally come to devise a remedy to the evil accidentally discovered in a sequence featuring a terrific Willem Dafoe nostalgic of the 50s and rebel with a cause.
Daybreakers therefore seems the momentary point of arrival inthe evolution of a type of imagery that is now fully released by the kind which historically belonged, or the horror, net of the splatter (the shedding of blood, while considering the centrality of the theme, minimized) and ready for any else, even science fiction. The work of the brothers Spierig us speaks more to issues related to fears for the future as the intrusiveness of the multinationals, the conformism and the importance of human research, that of eternal spiritual and religious dialectic between good and evil.
